COMMISSION POLICY
SUBJECT: Use of District Owned Cellular Phones
This is a new Policy (see State Auditor’s Bulletin No. 014, dated 3/13/96).
It shall be a policy of this District that phones provided by the District are to be used as a communication tool to conduct District business only. However, there may be times when contacting family members at home (or other location) may be necessary due to an unanticipated delay caused by work activity. This contact via District owned cellular phone must be kept to a minimum.
There may be other times, when carrying a District owned cellular phone to keep in contact in case of an emergency, that the phone might be used for a more personal emergency. This is permitted under this policy, but with each billing, the individual responsible for the cellular phone so assigned, must give an accounting of the billing received from the phone company and immediately pay to the District any portion of the billing that is not for District business. In any case, all such private use shall be kept to a minimum. ·
