COMMISSION POLICY
SUBJECT: Acceptable Legal Tender for Payment of Billings
Due to the fact that this District accepts only U.S. currency, it shall be a policy to not accept “rolled” coins in any amount for payment of any and all amounts owed.
Further, due to the fact that it would take extra handling time, it shall be a policy not to accept loose coinage in an amount exceeding five dollars. Where such payment is made in loose coinage exceeding five dollars, there shall be assessed a 2% handling fee of the amount over five dollars, with a minimum charge of $2.00.
